Los principales protagonistas de su archivo personal son ella y su hijo Omar, con quien vive, viaja y baila danz\u00f3n. Su af\u00e1n por preservar la memoria la ha llevado a conservar horas de filmaci\u00f3n que reproduce y comenta durante el documental, el cual extrae fragmentos de estas grabaciones y las complementa con nuevas tomas de la cotidianidad de Omar y Gloria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Semblanza<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jimmy Cohen (M\u00e9xico) se gradu\u00f3 con honores de la universidad CENTRO. Su primer largometraje <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El tercer sendero <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">particip\u00f3 en el Festival Distrital, Festival de Cine Latinoamericano de Toulouse y Festival Internacional del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano de La Habana, entre otros. Su segundo largometraje, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Omar y Glori<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a, se estren\u00f3 en el Festival Play-Doc en Espa\u00f1a.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Aciertos formales<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> Para la realizaci\u00f3n de este documental, Jimmy Cohen grab\u00f3 la vida de Omar y Gloria, incluso cuando ellos ve\u00edan las filmaciones caseras que tienen guardadas. Este di\u00e1logo que se traza entre los videos de la protagonista autodidacta y las filmaciones del director generan una nueva perspectiva sobre las posibilidades cinematogr\u00e1ficas de los materiales dom\u00e9sticos.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> El documental se conforma en su mayor\u00eda por videos caseros de Gloria, lo cual aporta una visi\u00f3n genuina sobre su cotidianidad y la inocencia de sus intereses, y permite que los protagonistas se expresen por s\u00ed mismos sin una imposici\u00f3n del director.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> Destaca la labor de montaje del filme pues el director trabaj\u00f3 con miles de horas de material filmado por Gloria y lo sum\u00f3 a sus propias filmaciones \u2014ambas con estilos distantes entre s\u00ed\u2014 consiguiendo una narrativa sensible, pero s\u00f3lida, de esta particular historia.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> En la aproximaci\u00f3n de la historia, el director decide integrar su mirada de forma casi invisible para entretejer el video diario de Gloria. El modo de narrar de Cohen se asemeja al <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cin\u00e9ma v\u00e9rit\u00e9<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> por su inter\u00e9s en evitar cualquier tipo de intervenci\u00f3n. As\u00ed erradica la voz en <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">off<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> y permite el flujo natural de los videos y reflexiones de Gloria.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>El tema en datos<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> El danz\u00f3n fue creado por el compositor matancero Miguel Failde y P\u00e9rez en 1879.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> En M\u00e9xico se arraig\u00f3 este baile en la cultura popular alrededor del siglo XX.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"> En el danz\u00f3n se acostumbra pasar un momento sin bailar, s\u00f3lo platicando o caminando.
