Desde la d\u00e9cada de los ochenta ha dirigido cursos de direcci\u00f3n cinematogr\u00e1fica en diferentes universidades \u2013incluida la de Stanford. Su trabajo ha sido becado por fundaciones como Guggenheim o el Instituto Rockefeller.
