Relata la lucha de un grupo de trabajadoras hospitalarias afroamericanas en Charleston, Carolina del Sur, quienes se declararon en huelga para exigir salarios justos y reconocimiento sindical. El mediometraje fue producido con el apoyo de la Secci\u00f3n 1199 (el \u201csindicato favorito\u201d de Martin Luther King) que organizaba a trabajadores de hospitales y asilos. Hay apariciones del futuro embajador ante las Naciones Unidas, Andrew Young, el Reverendo Ralph Abernathy y Coretta Scott King.<\/p>\n

Madeline Anderson<\/strong> (Estados Unidos, 1923) es una realizadora, productora y pionera del \u00e1mbito televisivo y documental estadounidense. Es reconocida, entre otros logros, por haber sido la primera mujer afroamericana en producir y dirigir un documental televisado. Sus documentales Integration Report One\u00a0<\/em>y I Am Somebody <\/em>son considerados obras fundamentales para comprender la lucha por los derechos civiles y econ\u00f3micos de la comunidad afroamericana.<\/span><\/p>\n
