Con la misma pasi\u00f3n resiste al exterminio que sufri\u00f3 la ciudad siria de Alepo y nos hace sentir la enorme esperanza y solidaridad de su pueblo. Narrado en primera persona, este documental es una carta de amor a Sama, la hija de la directora y protagonista del filme, cuya beb\u00e9 naci\u00f3 en medio de la guerra de resistencia del pueblo sirio en contra del dictador Bashar al-\u00c1sad. Sama crece escuchando c\u00f3mo explotan bombas que destruyen los hospitales donde su padre m\u00e9dico lucha por salvar la vida de miles de heridos. La historia va y viene en el tiempo para construir un relato que entrelaza el desarrollo de la guerra con la historia de amor de una joven pareja que decide quedarse a luchar por la vida de su gente. Producto de una afortunada codirecci\u00f3n entre Waad al-Kateab y Edward Watts, el documental logra equilibrar la cercan\u00eda vivencial con la distancia cr\u00edtica, y articula magistralmente la trascendencia period\u00edstica internacional con un cine de autor en clave epistolar y autobiogr\u00e1fica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por Itzel Mart\u00ednez del Ca\u00f1izo, programadora de Ambulante.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Semblanza<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Waad al-Kateab (Siria, 1991) es directora, productora y camar\u00f3grafa. Waad era una estudiante de Marketing en la Universidad de Alepo cuando las protestas contra el r\u00e9gimen de Assad arrasaron el pa\u00eds en 2011. Al igual que cientos de sus compa\u00f1eros sirios, se convirti\u00f3 en una periodista ciudadana decidida a documentar los horrores de la guerra, y aprendi\u00f3 de forma emp\u00edrica c\u00f3mo filmar, produciendo algunas de las im\u00e1genes m\u00e1s memorables del conflicto.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Edward Watts es un cineasta ingl\u00e9s conocido por hacer documentales y pel\u00edculas de ficci\u00f3n.
