A polyphonic documentary on retired women from Spain, Argentina and Uruguay who visit the movie theatre every day; and of how fiction gets weaved into their daily lives, leaving traces in their memory.
María Álvarez was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a writer and a director. Her play Burn Before Reading received the Fray Luis de León de Valladolid Award. She directed El Banco, a fictionalized documentary on the story of the Bank of Argentina. She has an art blog, loescriboportubien.blogspot.com, and The Cinephiles is her first feature-length documentary.
