SYNOPSIS

A monumental production, this films portrays the first Olympic Games held in Latin America and in a Spanish-speaking country. It shows pivotal moments of the competitions as well as the contradictions of organizing this important international event in Mexico in 1968.

BIOGRAPHY

Albert Isaac was a schoolteacher, a painter, a cartoonist, a writer, a filmmaker and an Olympic swimmer. He won the National Journalism Award for his cartoons, and was an Olympic medallist, as well as the first director of the Mexican Film Institute. He also directed 16 films, four of them documentaries. The Olympics in Mexico was nominated in the Best Feature-Length Documentary category in 1969.
