After receiving the results of a DNA test, rapper René Pérez Joglar – better known as Residente – embarks on an adventure across the world to retrace his forefathers’ steps and record his new album. His journey through Ghana, Siberia, China, United States and Puerto Rico, among other places, reveals the activism, awareness and diversity that integrate the ex-leader of Calle 13’s work.
René Pérez Joglar – better known as Residente- was born in Puerto Rico. A rapper, composer and producer, he was the cofounder and singer of Calle 13, a band that received 25 Grammy Awards, breaking the record for the Latin group with the most golden trophies. Residente has been recognized for his social commitment towards Latin American education and indigenous rights. In 2015 he received the Nobel Peace Summit Award in Barcelona for his social awareness and promotion of peace.
