The film seeks to understand the way in which teenagers think, dream and live today, from conversations which young students of public schools in Rio de Janeiro had with the filmmaker Eduardo Coutinho a little bit before his death.
Eduardo Coutinho(Brazil, 1933-2014) was a director, producer, screenwriter, actor and journalist, considered one of the most important documentarians of Brazil. He devoted his life to filmmaking since 1962, but it wasn’t until the 70s, when he started producing reports for the program Globo Repórter by TV Globo, that he traded fiction for documentaries. Among his extensive filmography, it is worth mentioningCabra, Marcado para Morir, winner of the Berlinale International Critics Award in 1985, EdifícioMaster, andJogo de Cena. Last Conversations, documentary finished posthumously by his executive producer João Moreira Salles and his editor Jordana Berg, truthfully reflects the essence of Coutinho’s work: portraying everyday people through conversation.
