Ambulante receives the Especial Márgenes award

Ambulante received the Especial Márgenes Award in recognition of its contributions to the Iberoamerican independent film. The award, given every year by Márgenes — a platform of exhibition and distribution specialized in Spanish and Iberoamerican independent film based out of Spain and Mexico —  highlights Ambulante’s trajectory over the past fifteen years which has

The award ceremony will take place on November 20 during the 9th installation of the Márgenes film festival in the Cineteca Madrid, Spain. 

To celebrate the award, Márgenes, in partnership with Ambulante, will schedule screenings of movies that offer a retrospective look at Ambulante’s history in “la Casa de Mexico” in Spain. Other movies will also be available to stream on Márgenes’ webpage: www.margenes.org.

From its inception in 2013, the Márgenes award has been given to other filmmakers and creative personalities such as Lluís Miñarro (Spain), Basilio Martín Patino (Spain), Gonzalo Suárez (Spain), Emma Suárez (Spain), Lluis Escartín (Spain), Luis Ospina (Colombia), Isaki Lacuesta (Spain) e Isa Campo (Spain). In 2019, the award was also given to Argentine filmmaker Lisandro Alonso.
